Tips For Getting Your Home Ready For Staging

Though we are interested in helping you sell your home fast, we do want to make sure we can help everyone the best we can. That may mean directing someone towards a real estate agent. We’re ok with that, though. At the end of the day, we want to make sure your needs are met.

That being said, we have compiled a few tips that may help you when it comes to staging your home for sale. Below, you’ll find a handful that offer a great start.

Cleanliness is Next to…

Go room to room. Anything that looks like it may give the room a ‘messy’ vibe or is just clutter, remove it. Store it somewhere else. Tidy everything up. This also includes wiping down all surfaces and vacuuming or mopping floors. You want to make each and every room as presentable as possible. Nothing turns a potential buyer away than dirt, scum, and clutter.

Smells Like…

The longer you spend somewhere, the more comfortable you become with any odors that are in the air. You may not even recognize that there is a strong or pungent odor wafting around your house. Prior to any walk-through, pop open some windows and let some fresh air in. The fresh air should help eliminate some of the odors.

Additionally, you could present a welcoming atmosphere by displaying and lighting some candles or diffusers. Certain pleasant aromas can make people feel more comfortable and welcome within your home – something you want when you’re trying to sell your home.

It’s Too Dark in Here!

Make your home pop by providing adequate lighting in every room. You don’t want your viewers to think they just walked into a dank dungeon or a funeral home. Adding an extra floor or table lamp in rooms that need them will certainly help brighten the place up. If there is enough natural light, open up the curtains and blinds. Let the sun in!

A Little Here, A Little There…

Fixing up the tiny details can help your home look so much more complete. This may include painting a banged up wall or replacing any loose door knobs. And baseboards that are damaged need to be repaired as well as any holes in the walls. Make sure everything looks as pristine as possible. Most people aren’t looking for project homes, so don’t let them think they’re walking into one.

Love at First…

The first thing any potential buyer will see is the exterior of your home. If you want to sell your house, you want to make sure that first impression is a good one. You’ll have to make sure that your exterior is in tip-top shape. This includes paint, gutters, and walkways. This also means the landscaping. If your grass is overgrown or there is random lawn furniture littered throughout the yard, you may turn someone off to your home before they even step foot inside.

Of course, this isn’t a definitive list, but it’s enough to get you started. If, after reading this, you feel like it may just be a little too much or you feel that you just don’t have the time to handle all of this, then please let us know. This is our shameless plug on our blog. We’d be more than happy to buy your home in its as-is condition.
